Out of the ashes of disco came a new sound of the city and the dancefloor. This was House, coined by the music Frankie Knuckles was spinning at the Warehouse in Chicago. The music was mostly disco edits along with the use of a Roland 909 drum machine to add an extra punch to the kick drum. Soon artists in Chicago were taking drum machines and samplers and creating their own "house" music sounding more like its evil sister, Techno. Updated Weekly
