Bumrocks.com

Active Image

There is a Bumrocks Compilation coming out called El Bum. Check out this press release below for more info.

"El Bum" is a LP collection of super rare bootlegs and extended dancefloor trips presented by cult website Bumrocks.com.

Pushing the tradition of the mysterious Electric Funky Afro Sound series of LPs, "El Bum" packs 11 tracks spanning the sounds of disco-rock, electro-disco, proto-techno, and balearic onto 1 high quality piece of pirate plastic.

Bootlegs include the highly sought after and impossible to find electronic masterpiece “Endless Race” by Leda (Peter Baumann) and a virtually unknown Italian jam that could be a rock version of “Il Veliero."

Bumrocks cohorts Tako, Hey Convict!, and The Beat Broker contribute tracks too; an edit of Jeanne Shy’s “Night Dancer” as centerpiece, extending the drama of the irresistible bassline and strung-out strings over 6 minutes.

Dick Cheese & Roman Wafers (Perks from PAM) throws down a Yello medley that jacks their most electro hooks into something for when the floor wants to stop dancing and start jumping up and down. 3 never-heard balearic cruisers round out the collection.

The first website of it’s kind, Bumrocks.com has been broadcasting lost classics and breaking tracks 20 years too late since 2004. It’s super minimal presentation won it a cult following with collectors, producers and djs worldwide.

Guest programmers have included Todd Terje, Trevor Jackson, Discocaine, Prins Thomas, Lexx, Cosmo Vitelli, Brennan Green, Tim Sweeney, DJ Ayers, Munk and others."

Obama Wins!

Active Image

I usually tend to keep this website to subject matter strictly of the musical nature but it is with great pride today that I call myself a citizen of the United States of America. I am proud of our nation realizing the error of our ways in the last eight years and looking beyond race, color, and creed to vote in a candidate that promises to bring with him change. It is a change that this country has needed for a long time.

It will be a long hard road to make our country seen as the great America it once was. To survive the mortage crisis, economic slowdown, limiting resources of energy, and war on terror. But we must not lose hope  along this journey and realize that it is a journey and one that won't be completed in a few months, a year, or even in Obama's first term. But if we can keep this fire burning that rekindled our desire to elect the one person who could bring this country together then I am passionate that we are headed in the right direction.

So I raise my glass in cheer and hope for a better future.

Digging in the Heartland

I just found this interesting blog about digging for records all over the world called Jake Dragons. It follows three British record collectors as they travel from New York City to Austin, Texas. Check out some of the great records that they found!
